When you enter a clean air zone or low emission zone in a non compliant vehicle you will have to pay a daily charge to drive in that clean air or ULEZ zone. These daily charges are dependant on the region you are planning to drive through and the type of vehicle you drive as a class C vehicle will have a different clean air charge to a class B vehicle. We have worked all this out for you in our clean air zone checker, all you need to do is enter your reg and details and we will let you know if your vehicle is compliant and the daily price you will need to pay if it is not.
Within each clean air zone and ULEZ area are roadside sensors and clean air zone cameras that identify and register every vehicle that enters. The vehicle is then sent to a secure data centred where the software determines if the vehicle is compliant for a clean air zone.
